Yes i had also applied OCI for my child about 6 months back and was denied since we parents hold indian citizenship. Does anybody know that registering every 6 months is a must ? Some of my friends have permanentely gone back to India i am not sure what they are doing though since there kids hold US Citizenship. Any infomation on this will be helpful.

Here's another parallel Idea.
Let us try to schedule a meet with the prospective presidential Candidates (McCain, Clinton and Obama) instead to let them know our issues.
By the time we actually get a meeting with the current president, his term may have expired. The presidential candidates, on the other hand will have some time now (not a whole lot but a little). If we squeeze some time there, we may be able to atleast get our issues out there.
The reason we should meet the current President is that he has nothing to loose...he may show some sympathy on us....Though the prospective candidates will support us, they cannot show their full support in public till elections are over and they settle down...sometime end of 2009!

No. I changed to a different company with same position.
It is more than likely a computer glitch but it's always worth it to check with the USCIS. A few years ago the status on one my approved old H-1B cases changed from Approved to Initial Review. It shows the same (Initial Review) status till date. It did not affect my current and/or future H-1B approvals.

Your case is a lil different than mine cause you did your I140 first, got online receipt that was sent with your 485. I am assuming one week later, when you had your PERM hard copy, you sent that along with other docs for your I140. I think you will be fine. You did everything right for the I140 and 485 is dependent on 140.
Me though...my lawyer sent both 140/485 together in the mail, nothing done online. and no perm hard copy was included..just the online approval ETA form, signed by me/employer, along with screen shot af DOLETA approval.
I will definitely keep you updated. I think mine will take longer than most cause on top of everything my file was sent to nebraska instead of texas....so it had/needs to be transfered to texas (NY employer).
Keep updating and if you hear about others (i'm trying to stay in touch with others in similar position), let me know...

What I'm going to tell you to do is illegal. So do it at your own risk.
I don't think USCIS is ever going to find out about your income unless you disclose it.
Not filing tax returns is illegal no matter how small the income is. 5k is definitely big enough. I think you should go ahead and file tax returns atleast for 2009, so that you won't get into trouble with the IRS.

Philippines GC numbers are almost exclusively Schedule A (nursing etc) - 23K consumption is out of the 50K that was authorized by congress as a one time adjustment in '05 - so these no:s are over and above the yearly 140K and hence does not put Philippines in the "oversubscribed" column (go figure)...

Hi My Application alongwith my wife and daughter reached NSC on July 2 and signed by J. Barett. Till date (Oct 30 - 2007) I have not received any information. Its over 4 months and whenever I call USCIS they are asking me to wait. I think my application is lost.
My lawyer had sent 25 applications in one packet 22 of them got receipts except the three for me, my wife and daughter.
Will I be able to refile? Lawyer has Fedex Receipt....

Thanks for your responses. The hospital staff told us it would take 60-90 days to get the SSN. I am stuck until that arrives because only then can I apply for the passport. Any way to get around it?

This is a hard call. I would probably wait for the EAD before deciding which one to cancel. you might be canceling one that is about to send you your EAD. It is risky.

I found that EADs from NSC are being issued for filers until Aug13, as of now. I guess the processing time is like a week and half of the week, for every day. So you could be getting in 3 weeks.

- On L1 for 3 1/2 years and H1 for 2 years 3 months. About to complete 6
years in 3 months.

Question:
1. Does L1 period is counted for H1 extention?
2. Can he do H1 transfer using AC21 without I140 approval?

3. What if the old employer revokes his I140 now? His GC process is invalid?
4. If we leave about GC, Can he do H1 transfer atleast?

I had my FP done yesterday (Sep 27). My notice date is Aug 28th on 485 and I received FP notice in the first week of september.
I think you should call them immediately as you should have not only gotten you FP notice by now but also got your FP done.

Does any one here has Newark NJ as their ASC? Reason is my notice date is august 27th from TSC and I haven't received my FP notice yet. My wife has the similar issue as well. I've called USCIS atleast twice but they are not ready to open service request and are saying that the ASC must be busy.
I wanted to find out if any one of you here has notice date after august 27th and have already got FP notice from Newark (NJ) ASC.
