It looks like Mr.Obama is Changing the wrong thing, Immigration policy badly needs an update, he needs to fix that first, cool aid wont help.If the roof is broken you need to fix roof, that should be the priority, instead painting neighbours door and putting christmas lights in summer will not fix the problem. What exactly does it mean when you say "Use the EAD"? My H1 is valid for next 3 yrs and i dont want to use the EAD (hopefully I'll get it), how do I make sure I dont use the EAD. Does it cause confusion in port of entry when you have both a vlid H1 stamping and EAd and AP?

By getting EAD you are not using it. When the company submits new I-9 form along with EAD that's when it get's "used". I'm in the same boat, will keep extnding H1 and also keep EAD as a backup

Why is the issue date matter?
When was the birth registered? If it says recently, then you should go thru the process.
If the birth was registered proerly at right time, you will not have problems.
Reissuance of birth certificates are very common. Expecting one to own 27 years old document is ridiculous.
The birth was registered just two months later -- but from what I've been reading the issue date (being so recent) does raise some eyebrows as well. The question posed is ... why haven't you tried to get a 'correct' birth certificate issued so far and only got it issued last month for US immigration purposes.
To be really safe, our lawyer is requesting we get affidavits sworn as well.

12 calendar days. My I 140 was originally applied on 01/08/2007 upgraded to premium on 06/26/2007 there was a RFE ability to pay , reponse for RFE received on 07/26/2007. we called 18663155718 today, the IO officer said my case is approved today. online status still says it's pending.

Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to get my SSN Done. I'm on a dependent H4 Visa and have my H1 approval .
I visited the SSN office with My I797, State ID and Passport : SSN officer straightforwardly rejected as I dont have my EAD card.
The Officer asked me to visit USCIS office to apply for EAD.
Please help me with this situation..Does a H1 get an EAD and then a SSN?

Sounds like someone at SSN office who may not know much about immigration.
If your I 797 came with attached I94, then you certainly can apply for SSN card. Just ask for supervisor at the SS office and talk to them.
If your I 797 does not have attached I 94 (meaning that you are still in H4 status), then I do not know for sure what the procedure would be to apply for SS card.

I don't understand why are you raising this issue in a forum specifically designed to address immigration issues.
If you need to find a good desi consulting company then you would have to do your own research. After all what would you expect from the members...company A is good and company B is bad!
You are not going to get a definite answer from this forum! Also, please understand that there are many members here that may not work for desi consulting companies or are desis for that matter. Do your own research and find a company that works for you without soliciting opinions from a forum not designed for such responses!

My lawyer says there is going to be about 5-10K spillover from Family to employment based. Gurus can you estimate how much dates will move if that happens. I am hoping nothing for EB3 though :(
He said end of year for spillover from family. So I understood as September,
I also asked how many visas a left. He said only about 9 thousand for EB2 in total. They approved a lot this month. Next month more approvals will happen. For EB3 India he said only a couple of hundred are available till end of September.

I am a 07 filer, got FP notice for Oct 07, got it done, got EADs and APs , renewed them twice. But what about finger printing. Do I need to get it done yearly, if so, I got no notice so far.

Thank you RoseBall for your response. Definitely will do. One thing I want to emphasise. I'm sure rejection happened in Feb/October 2007 due to some other reason. Because USCIS did not ask for my either past employment history or paystubs.Do you have any idea of any grace period like 30 days after H1B expiration date to file for extension?

Thanks MC thats a valid Point.
There are 2 reasons that I thought of for not applying / renewing.
1) I'm not planning on going anywhere after / atleast for a year.
2) My wife's AP filed last year took Six months to get approved and what happens if you fly out while your AP is pending / sent for renewal. I read in this forum, not fly out, while you AP is pending.
Appreciate your time.

Generally how many days it takes to get the actual RFE in hand.
I saw status update on May 20th and yet to get the copy in hand.
Me or my lawyer have not received it yet.
What are the next steps if we don't get it soon.
Waiting for the RFE for all 3 of us,wife,me and son. Called up USCIS and they said that it is sent to Lawyer's office. Would they send it to my home address also?

GENSCN is right, Logically you should receive the EAD after you give the biometrics. Current trend, people are receiving EADs before finger printing. I received EAD before FP.

Oh mdipi if you use this technique....I would blur the image allot higher than you did in your example....Because I can tell it is a sunset.....unless that is what you wanted. It works better when u cannot tell what it was.:cowboy:
